Five Stations / Francis Matthews

2012

Film

‘By imposing the order of his foot or his arm, he has created a unit which regulates the whole work; and this work is on his own scale, to his own proportion, comfortable for him, to his measure. It is on the human scale.’ – le Corbusier

Five Stations is a study of an idea related to scale as part of a project to develop a
narrative short film.

I wanted to explore a form which has arisen from a non human measure and to observe the human interaction with/in the place.

The future narrative short will involve ideas relating to scale in setting, narrative, structure and visuals. The events in the film will emerge from the specific spatial conditions of the form.
