This video was initially shot with the theme of immateriality in mind, for the 2013 CineCityVideo Project. Gazing up at the man whose constant duty is in maintaining a transparent roof in a dusty part of Sicily also conjures speculation about the idea of architecture being suitable to it’s environment.
What if there is a drought? Or if he stops cleaning? Eventually the dust would build up to create an unintended opacity and perhaps the room would then become an evolving work in process?
